Hisense Lasers On
While Hisense currently offers 4K short-throw laser projectors at 80-,88, and 100-inches (all of which require special, dedicated, included screens, at CES they showed a new 150-inch design.
It won’t be available until the fourth quarter of this year (price TBD) but it produced a bright, compelling, though a bit oversaturated picture. Like all of Hisense’s laser displays, its images are produced via Texas Instruments’ 4K DLP chip. Likely still under refinement, the projector should be an interesting addition to the growing category of short throw projectors that sit close to the screen to minimize the need for ceiling mounting and intrusion into the room. It also includes a built-in sound system designed by Harman Kardon.
