House of Marley Brings Sustainable Design to Wireless Earphones

House of Marley, the company co-founded by the son of the late reggae icon Bob Marley, has introduced a Bluetooth-enabled wireless version of its top-selling Smile Jamaica earphones.

Launched in conjunction with the #MaterialsMatter campaign, which promotes the company’s eco-friendly manufacturing process, the Smile Jamaica wireless earphones are made of Forest Management Certified (FSC) woods, recycled silicone rubber, recycled aluminum alloys and packaged with 100-percent recyclable materials.

Weighing just 26 grams, the earphones are compatible with Apple and Android devices and feature a sweat-resistant design with woven cables that retract into a flexible neck band with a noise isolating microphone and buttons for wireless media control, a rechargeable battery with a rated life of 8 hours, a storage bag, and two silicone ear tips (small and medium). The earphones are available in black, white, blue, and black with brass highlights.

The company also announced a partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit dedicated to reforestation efforts worldwide. Each House of Marley product sold will contribute to the brands’ common goal of planting 75,000 trees within the next year in an effort to spread awareness of global forest restoration needs and corporate social responsibility.

“House of Marley is about bringing sustainability to the audio world,” said Brand Ambassador Rohan Marley and son of Bob Marley. “We take great pride in our efforts to work with materials that reduce our footprint on this planet. That is the heart of our #MaterialsMatter campaign; our story of using sustainable materials—from organic cotton and bamboo to recycled plastic water bottles. By teaming up with One Tree Planted, we are acknowledging the need to give back to our Mother Earth what we take from it.”
