House of Marley is known for using or reusing products that support sustainability while also functioning practically and performing up to a level that would make Bob Marley proud. The new No Bounds XL speaker ($149) uses an array of sustainable materials throughout to create a buoyant and impact-resistant speaker that’s begging to get outdoors.

The No Bounds XL is part of the latest lineup of Marley speakers using cork in a creative way. “No Bounds” because no speaker should have boundaries limiting where it can be used. Cork is naturally resistant to liquids, it’s lightweight, it’s pliable and it’s sustainable. The cork used in the No Bounds XL is harvested responsibly, but even better, it is actually post-industrial cork scraps left over after wine-bottle corks are created.

In addition to the cork backing, the XL uses ReGrind silicon to give it a rubberized, impact-resistant body, and the speaker grill fabric is made from recycled water bottles. It has two 1” tweeters, two 2.5” full-range speakers, and a passive bass radiator. It has 18 hours of battery power and is water and dust proof rated at IP67.  It can be paired wirelessly with another speaker.

The XL can function as a power bank with USB charging, and it also has an AUX input for wired connectivity.

Although the No Bounds XL speaker is waterproof, complete with rubberized gaskets around the connections, and it floats, it should not be used in the water. Nor should it be used as a flotation device.
