iDevices Adds New HomeKit and Alexa Controllable Smart Devices

Smart home device maker, iDevices, is adding several new smart devices that include Apple HomeKit and Amazon Alexa integration. Unlike the other devices in the company’s lineup, the new gadgets require a more involved installation rather than being simple plug-and-play designs. The new smart devices are designed to physically replace electric outlets, light switches, and dimmers.

The new models include a Wall Outlet with two individually controlled three-prong outlets. The iDevices Wall Switch and the company’s Dimmer Switch replace existing light switches and dimmers. The physical installation of the Outlets, Switches, and Dimmers is the same as it is for traditional, non-smart outlets, switches and dimmers.

iDevices’ system architecture relies on the Wi-Fi network in your home and does not require a hub. iDevices’ systems can consist of one or more iDevices devices. Systems are configured within and controlled by the iDevices Connected App. The Connected App will also control HomeKit-enabled devices from other manufacturers.

The Connected App is free and currently available. Specific pricing was not announced for the Wall Outlet, Wall Switch, and Dimmer Switch.
