Meet Jesse and Chester, two dimwitted yet lovable party animals who wake up one morning with a burning question: "Dude, Where's My Car?" Their only clues are a matchbook cover from Kitty Kat Strip club and a year's supply of pudding in the fridge. As they retrace their steps, these dudes are in for the ride of their steps, these dudes are in for the ride their lives, encountering hot alien chicks, dodging killer ostriches, and trying to score "special treats" from their ticked off twin girlfriends.

In a move to tie-in to the recent blockbuster What Happens in Vegas, Fox releases this catalog stoner classic to Blu-ray. The film has some genuinely hilarious moments and reminds me a bit of the recently reviewed Harold and Kumar films. Kutcher and Scott play two absent minded friends who wake up with no recollection of the last day’s events. The rest of the day pieces things together as the two struggle to find their car and are pursued by a group of female aliens, their girlfriends and more. For cheap laughs and stupid hilarity, this one is hard to beat.

Fox delivers this catalog title with a high bitrate MPEG-2 transfer that is pretty good overall. Detail is consistently good but doesn’t have the delineation of some of their higher profile titles. The image has a decent sense of dimension and depth and the colors and brightness lend to a pleasing overall. The image retains a bit of a processed look from time to time with a somewhat smooth appearance and slightly washed out color palette but I didn’t expect a lot of eye candy from this type of title.

The soundtrack is largely a mix of amped up tunes and some limited sound effects. Dialogue sounds natural throughout but gets drowned out from time to time by the film’s soundtrack. The soundstage is largely open and surrounds are used more than I would expect from the genre.

Stoner comedies are always hit and miss and while I did find this one to have some hilarious moments, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. Fox did a pretty good job with the presentation though so fans of the film will be more than pleased.
