They say that opposites attract. Well, for slacker Ben and career girl Alison, that's certainly the case - at least for one intoxicated evening. Two months and several pregnancy tests later, Ben and Alison go through a hysterically funny, anxious and heartwarming journey.

I must say that I’ve been really impressed with Judd Apatow’s romantic comedy/sex comedies. He completely misses me with his silly parodies like Talladega Nights, but I’ve loved his comedic looks at more down to earth relationship problems and the craziness that goes along with them. This one has some genuine heart to it and side splitting humor that just never gets old. If you haven’t seen this one yet, I really recommend giving it a try.

The HD presentation has a bit of a wavering quality to it. Fine detail is outstanding at times but the image goes back in forth in its sharpness which can be a tad frustrating. Color balance is very natural and contrast levels are decent, but the inconsistencies in overall focus and dimension keep this one from better marks.

The 5.1 lossless soundtrack is quite good for the genre and I was impressed with the believability of the soundstage. The club sequences have great dynamics and a sensational level of atmosphere that really gives you the impression of being in the environment. The film’s soundtrack also broadens the soundstage up considerably and delivers some nice dynamics as well. Dialogue sounds very natural in tone and balance and never takes a back seat to the rest of the mix.

Universal has included both cuts of the film for this release and you can select one or the other from the main menu. A picture-in-picture feature gives you an inside look at the making of the film and interviews and commentary by the key players. There is also a TON of supplements including lots of themed featurettes and gags. A feature commentary and deleted scenes are also included.

This is definitely one of my favorite sex comedies of the last few years and Universal has done an outstanding job with the supplemental package and overall delivery to Blu-ray. Highly recommended.
