Integra Introduces ‘Advanced’ DRX Receiver Series

Integra has announced that its new DRX series of “advanced” 7.2 channel receivers is now shipping.

The series launches with four models: the DRX-2 ($800), DRX-3 ($1,000), DRX-4 ($1,300), and DRX-5 ($1,700), all of which are equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound decoding, 4K upconversion, a redesigned user interface, Integra’s Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) for “noiseless signal processing,” and the latest generation of the company’s AccuEQ calibration system, featuring AccuReflex phase alignment for object-based surround sound.

Common features include AirPlay, Pandora and Spotify streaming, high-resolution audio capability, including DSD 11.2 MHz playback, and a phono input. All models also feature auto-switching between a main zone with 7.2 or 5.1.2 channels (for Dolby Atmos configurations) and a 5.1-channel main zone plus Zone 2 stereo when Zone 2 is turned on.

Tidal streaming capability and decoding for DTS:X surround decoding will be available this summer via a firmware update, while updates for MQA high-resolution audio decoding, Google Cast (for audio), and FireConnect wireless multiroom compatibility are scheduled for release later this year.

The DRX-4 and DRX-5 receivers feature THX Select2 Plus certification, Zone 2 HDMI and matrix switching, an HDBaseT output, and rated power output at 8 ohms of 7 x 110 watts and 7 x 130 watts, respectively, with 35 amps and 40 amps of high-instantaneous current capability. Additional features include 4K/60 Hz-capable HDMI terminals supporting high dynamic range (HDR), 4:4:4 color space, BT.2020, 4K upscaling from 1080p, HDCP 2.2, and eight HDMI inputs (one in front). Features exclusive to the DRX-5 include Zone 3 audio and a separate assignable Zone 2 DAC.

The DRX-2 and DRX-3 receivers feature app-based streaming, Bluetooth, 802.11a Wi-Fi, and support 4K/Ultra HD; rated power output at 8 ohms is 7 x 80 watts and 7 x 100 watts, respectively, with 25 and 35 amps of high-instantaneous current capability. HDMI inputs number six for the DRX-2 and eight for the DRX-3, with one and two HDMI outputs, respectively.
