iPad Rebellion Breaks Out
Two major content producers refuse to throw out their Adobe Flash-based video libraries to suit Apple's iPad.
The rebels in question are Time Warner and NBC Universal. They've heard Steve Jobs' argument against Flash but they're not buying it.
While this is a setback for the iPad, it's hardly fatal. As News.com notes, Disney, CBS, CNN, and Fox News are among the outfits that plan to offer iPad-friendly content. But Apple also has Google's Android OS, other tablet offerings such as Amazon's Kindle, and the Justice Dept. breathing down its neck.
It's also worth noting that Adobe hasn't been banished entirely from the iPad kingdom. Wired for iPad was produced with non-Flash Adobe technology that works in concert with InDesign, a widely used magazine graphics application.
