Less than two weeks before his wedding, good-guy Roderick Blank receives a mysterious email listing every girl he's ever had sex with and the 70+ names of everyone he ever will have sex with. But as Roderick begins enjoying all the strippers, porn stars, stewardesses and celebrity lesbians on the list, he discovers that his ultimate date with destiny may lay with the serial killer known as “Death Nell”. Is the luckiest man in the world now doomed to face the final position of the Karma Sutra?

This movie is written and directed by Daniel Waters. He also did the cult classic Heathers back in the day. I didn’t think this one was quite as good as his former classic, but it has some fun moments. This is purely a sex comedy and the premise is a stretch. The cast makes the most out of the material but I found myself getting a bit bored after awhile, which isn’t a good sign when you’re talking about a sex comedy.

Anchor Bay delivers a decent HD presentation for this one. This doesn’t have quite the spit and polish that we see from bigger productions but the image does have nice depth and plenty of detail. Some of the whites look a bit pushed and add some noise to the film but colors are quite vivid and add a nice layer of pop to the image. Contrast can be a bit weak at times and darker sequences look a tad flat. While it may not compare to some of the bigger production HD releases out there, this one looks fine for a lower budget production with little in the way of distraction.

The audio is presented in uncompressed PCM 5.1 and the mix is what I would expect from this genre and budget. Dialogue is natural in timbre and balance but there was noticeable strain from time to time. The film’s score opens up the soundstage a bit but this is a pretty front heavy mix for the most part. Balance across the main soundstage is quite good though and imaging was on par with mainstream Hollywood titles. Overall an average mix for the genre.

Extras include a feature commentary with the director, a sex featurette and the trailer.

While I really liked the premise of this one the execution fell a bit short. It still has plenty of laughs though and a pretty strong cast. Anchor Bay delivers an average A/V presentation and I’m glad to see them continue to release in HD.
