JBL Aims High With New HDI Speaker Range
Along with JBL's patented 2410-H2 compression driver and HDI waveguide, both the tower and bookshelf models and center speaker feature aluminum matrix cone woofers with a 1.5-inch long-throw voice coil. The new lineup is topped off by the HDI-3800 ($5000/pair), a 2.5-way floorstander with three 8-inch woofers, and the HDI-3600 ($3800/pair), a smaller 2.5-way floorstander with three 6.5-inch woofers. JBL's HDI-1600 ($1800/pair) is a 2-way bookshelf model with a 6.5-inch woofer, and the HDI-4500 ($1750/each) is a 2.5-way center speaker with four 5.25-inch woofers. The lineup is rounded out by the HDI-1200P ($3000), a hefty subwoofer featuring a 12-inch driver powered by a 1000-watt amplifier.
Three finish options are available: painted high-gloss black, satin walnut wood veneer, and satin gray oak wood veneer. All HDI Series speakers will ship in January 2020.
