JBL SCS300.7 Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures: JBL SCS300.7 Speaker System

• SCS300SAT Satellite Sensitivity: 83 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

• SCS300CEN Center Sensitivity: 83.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the SCS300SAT satellite (purple trace), SUB300 subwoofer (blue trace), and SCS300CEN center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The SCS300SAT's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.06/–3.06 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 154 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 137 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.53 ohms at 334 Hz and a phase angle of –23.83 degrees at 218 Hz.

The SCS300CEN's listening-window response measures +1.89/–3.26 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.06/–3.54 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 158 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 141 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.61 ohms at 334 Hz and a phase angle of –25.09 degrees at 224 Hz.

The SUB300's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 40 Hz and the –6dB point is at 28 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 190 Hz using the LFE input.—MJP
