JVC Turns to DLP for New $2,500 4K HDR Projector
The LX-UH1 4K projector employs Texas Instruments’ newly developed 0.47-inch TRP digital micromirror device (DMD) technology and supports the HDR10 and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) high dynamic range (HDR) formats.
With a rated brightness of 2,000 lumens and 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, the projector is compatible with the BT.2020 color space and supports 100 percent of Rec. 709, according to JVC.
Features include a two-position automatic aperture said to extract the best possible image quality from HDR sources, an RS-232C interface, 12-volt screen-trigger output, and two HDMI inputs, one of which supports HDMI/HDCP2.2 and is capable of handling data transfer rates up to 18Gbps.
To accommodate a wide range of installations, the LX-UH1 has a 1.6x wide zoom lens and accommodates ±60 percent vertical lens shift and ±23 percent horizontal lens shift.
The LX-UH1 will be available in May.
