Klipsch Goes Retro With Custom Soundbar, Brings Jamo Back
Klipsch came to CEDIA with more than 50 new products, most targeted at the custom integrator community. Among the mix: a fully revamped architectural speaker line including three new series, each with it's own innovative quick-mount scheme to speed installation, and the custom-cut Heritage passive LCR shown here. Working off the styling of the company's classic Heritage speaker (recently reintroduced to the market with some success), the soundbar can be ordered for 2 to 3 week turnaround straight from Klipsch's Hope, Arkansas factory to match any TV width for what is expected to be about $2,000. The choices of cabinet finishes and grille options are shown in the photo on the shelf below the full-size sample. Each will feature three modules including a Tractix horn-loaded tweeter and a pair of woofer/midrange cones.
Separately, Klipsch was sharing the news that the Jamo speaker line, primarily targeted in recent years at the overseas market, would be returning to select U.S. distribution later this year. A pair of powered soundbars, the 40-inch SB40 ($399 with wireless powered sub) and the 36-inch SB36 ($199), will be joined by the new affordable Studio8 speaker series (shown below). The series offers a beautiful Scandanavian-infused design, and the option to add cosmetically-integrated upfiring Atmos modules that pop into the top of the tower with pins that complete the speaker connections; the magnetically attached grille can then be slid up to cover the joint.
