Klipsch Offers 5.1 Reference Theater Pack for a Grand

Klipsch is offering a new 5.1-channel Reference Theater Pack for enthusiasts who want big sound from speakers with a small footprint and small price tag.

The six piece system ($999) comprises four compact satellites, a center speaker, and a formidable wireless subwoofer.

Standing less than 8 inches tall, each satellite has a 3.5-inch injection-molded graphite woofer and a horn-loaded 0.75-inch LTS (linear travel suspension) tweeter — a hallmark of Klipsch’s Reference series speakers. The 11-inch-wide center speaker sandwiches the same horn-loaded tweeter between two of the spun copper woofers.

A wireless subwoofer with a down-firing 8-inch driver completes the package. Measuring about 13 x 12 x 12 inches, the ported sub packs a 50-watt amplifier and is rated to play down to 38 Hz with a maximum acoustic output of 108 dB.

Each satellite has a keyhole mount and a threaded insert for mounting flexibility; the center has two keyholes to accommodate wall mounting.
