Klipsch Puts Reference Premiere Speakers in the Wall
The new series is comprised of three in-wall models and two in-celling models, all featuring Cerametallic woofers and titanium-dome tweeters loaded in Klipsch’s trademark Tractrix horn, which controls high-frequency directivity.
A new SecureFit mounting system is said to ease installation and create a more stable acoustic platform that’s secured with machine screws instead of drywall screws, which is said to reduce baffle vibration by as much as 40 percent. The system is also designed to eliminate the possibility of breaking the dog legs that secure the frame or cracking the drywall.
All models are equipped with paintable, bezel-free magnetic grilles, which can be round or square grilles in the case of ceiling models.
In-wall pricing and model designations are as follows: $449 each for the two-way Pro-160RPW, which has a 6.5-inch woofer, and $499 each for both the Pro-180RPW (8-inch woofer) and Pro-250RPW LCR with dual 5.25-inch woofers. In-ceiling models are the Pro-160RPC (6.5-inch woofer, $449 each), Pro-180RPC (8-inch woofer, $499 each), and Pro-180RPC LCR ($549 each), featuring an angled tweeter and 8-inch woofer.
