LG Launches Music Flow Line of Speakers and Soundbars Featuring Google Cast

LG today introduced the Music Flow family of “smart hi-fi” speakers and soundbars, said to be among the first to support Google Cast Wi-Fi streaming from Android and iOS devices.

The speaker lineup includes four models: the battery-powered H4 portable ($199, available in May) and the H3, H5, and H7, available now for $179, $279, and $379, respectively. Three soundbars were also introduced: the LAS751M ($499), LAS851M ($599), and LAS950M ($999). All models can be controlled using LG’s Music Flow mobile app for Android, iOS, and Chromebook devices.

LG said the audio experience is better than Bluetooth because music streams from the cloud, not from the mobile device, and incoming calls and text messages do not disrupt playback. Deezer and Spotify are also integrated into the systems.

Music Flow products use mesh networking with dual-band technology, which is said to enhance reliability and minimize interruptions. Common features include a Home Cinema mode for synchronizing soundbars and speakers, a Multi-Room mode for playing the same or different music in multiple rooms, and auto syncing when mobile devices are within 1 foot of the speaker.
