LG: Our 2016 OLED TVs Exceed UHD Alliance Specs
In a pre-Press Day announcement released hours before its scheduled press conference, LG said the OLED 4K TVs it’s introducing this week at CES 2016 will exceed the “Ultra HD Premium” technical specifications announced last night by the Ultra HD Alliance (UHDA).
LG said key 2016 models have passed the UHDA’s certification testing and that its entire 4K OLED line is expected to be among the industry’s first to be certified as Ultra HD Premium.
The Ultra HD Premium certification is reserved for products that meet the most demanding performance standards for resolution, high dynamic range (HDR), peak luminance, black levels, and wide color gamut, among other criteria.
Details on LG’s 2016 TV lineup will be announced at today’s press conference. Watch for our report.
