MartinLogan Reveals New Dynamo and Abyss Subwoofers at CEDIA 2024: Power, Precision, and Performance

MartinLogan unveiled a versatile lineup of subwoofers, delivering powerful bass across models suited for a variety of home theater setups. From the Dynamo Foundation Series to the high-performance Abyss Series, these subwoofers meet different needs and price points.

Dynamo Foundation Series
The entry-level Dynamo Foundation 10 and Dynamo Foundation 12 are priced at $499 and $699, respectively. Despite their affordability, they deliver impressive power—400 watts peak for the Dynamo 10 and 700 watts for the Dynamo 12. Flaunting a streamlined, grille-less aesthetic, they utilize down-firing Polypropylene woofers that deliver precise, clean bass even at elevated volumes. Both models include high-resolution DSP for detailed sound, with optional wireless connectivity.

Dynamo Series
Stepping up in performance, the Dynamo 10 and Dynamo 12 offer significantly more power and advanced features. With anodized aluminum woofers encased in reinforced, sealed MDF cabinets, these models enhance sound clarity while minimizing distortion. The Dynamo 10 delivers up to 1,000 watts peak, while the Dynamo 12 reaches 1,600 watts. Both subwoofers feature built-in wireless connectivity, app control, and Anthem Room Correction (ARC) for precise, room-tuned performance.

Abyss Series
The Abyss Series introduces a hybrid design, pairing an active front driver with dual passive radiators. The Abyss 8 and Abyss 10 subwoofers—available in 8-inch and 10-inch models—deliver up to 1,600 watts of peak power, producing deep, powerful bass in a compact form. Featuring a sleek, grille-less design, they are equipped with down-firing Ultra-Rigid Polypropylene (URP) woofers for accurate, clean bass, even at high volumes. These models offer the output of larger ported designs but maintain a space-efficient, sealed enclosure, making them ideal for rooms with limited space.

Balanced Force Tease
During the video presentation, MartinLogan’s Andrew Lindsey hinted at a forthcoming addition to the Balanced Force lineup. While details remain scarce, fans can anticipate further innovations in this series, which is known for its symmetrical dual-driver design that reduces vibrations and enhances performance.

MartinLogan's 2024 subwoofer lineup promises high-quality bass for all setups, from entry-level systems to top-tier home theaters, covering a range of sizes, designs, and power levels.
