Mission M Series

Mission Electronics wants to bring high-end sound to everyone.

At the recent Home Entertainment 2002 show in New York, the British loudspeaker manufacturer announced the imminent launch of its "M" series, based on the performance parameters of the company's top-flight " Pilastro" model, which retails for $35,000 per pair.

Mission's design director Peter Comeau says that the new line of speakers won't offer all of the advantages of the Pilastro---such as acoustically-inert cabinets and high sensitivity to input signals, but will offer a substantial taste of high-end performance at an affordable price.

The new line will include a pair of tower speakers for left-right front use, a center channel, and a bipolar surround for use in side/rear applications. Mission is able to hit this very attractive price point by using a two-way driver design in all M series speakers except the powered subwoofer. Front, center, and surrounds have curved baffles for optimum dispersion, essential to realistic home theater sound.

M series speakers should hit the streets in late July at around $600 to $1,200/ pair. Mission loudspeakers are distributed in the US by Denon Electronics.
