Movie Gallery is going to close, subtracting another 1906 video and game rental stores from the American landscape.

The chain had already filed for bankruptcy in February. Ironically, it had beaten Blockbuster in a bidding war for Hollywood Entertainment, also creating Game Crazy as a sister chain. Now it's all going down the drain, according to sources cited in This Week In Consumer Electronics.

The news comes just months after Blockbuster announced it would close at least 500 stores this year.

The winner, of course, is Netflix, which is seeing healthy growth in subscribers, possibly due to its high customer satisfaction ratings.
