NAD Announces New Streaming Amp that Builds on the Popular C 700

NAD today unveiled a high-resolution streaming amplifier that significantly expands on the capabilities of its popular C 700.

Slated to ship in late August, the new C 700 V2 boasts an upgraded ESS Sabre digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and supports Dirac Live room correction and AirPlay 2 integration in addition to bringing a moving-magnet (MM) phono input, infrared (IR) control, MQA decoding, and Dolby Digital surround decoding into the fold. At $1,599, the V2 costs only $100 more than its predecessor.

The updated V2 is otherwise identical to the C 700 in looks (including the large color screen), size (8.6 x 3 x 10.5), build quality (aluminum case), and capabilities, which include a HybridDigital UcD amplifier rated to deliver 2 x 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms, multiroom streaming in up to 63 zones via NAD’s own app-based BluOS platform, and support for hi-res audio up to 24-bit/192-kHz, aptX HD Bluetooth, and MQA decoding.

Taking advantage of Dirac Live processing, which uses patented algorithms to optimize sound quality based on speaker type and the acoustical characteristics of the listening space, will require the purchase of a license from dirac.com and the use of a calibrated microphone (sold separately). The C 700 V2 will be able to store up to five Dirac Live profiles to accommodate different system layouts and room conditions.

The addition of Dolby Digital processing makes it possible to set up a 4.1-channel surround-sound setup with BluOS-enabled rear-channel speakers and a wired subwoofer, while the phono input makes it easy to connect a turntable without having to worry about also connecting an outboard phono preamp.

The C 700 V2 is compatible compatibility Alexa and Siri voice assistants and through the BluOS app provides access to more than 20 popular music streaming services — including Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, and Amazon Music Ultra HD — thousands of internet radio stations, and local music libraries.

Connections include analog phono and line-level RCA inputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs, stereo pre-out jacks, and HDMI eARC and USB Type A ports. For more information, visit nadelectronics.com.

You have clear goals in all of our papa's games. You might be putting money aside for a new car or a park ticket. You can only reach your goal by making money and helping other people. At the order desk, you will first take orders. Then, get the right items together and get them ready at the grill, mix, or build station. The last steps are different for each place. Help people in the neighborhood and at baseball games!
