Net TV Passes 50 Percent Mark
The study sampled 1000 viewers of various genders, ages, income levels, and regions. It found 51 percent of viewers over 25 watched "some" programs on the internet, 8 percent watched "most," and 5 percent "all," totaling 64 percent watching on the net. Another 36 percent watched "none" of their programs on the net.
Among viewers under 25, the numbers for internet TV go up. Fifty-four percent watch "some," 23 percent "most," and 6 percent "all," totaling 83 percent. Only 17 percent watch "none."
Men are more enthusiastic about internet TV, with 17 percent watching all programs online, versus 9 percent of women.
Concerning existing cable or satellite service as it related to internet TV, 57 percent were happy and would not cancel, 36 percent have canceled or are considering it, and 17 percent said they would not cancel.
What programs attract viewers to internet TV? HD content, said 20 percent; HBO-like premium shows, 19 percent; or live sports, 15 percent.
