New Elite Screen Combines Best of Two Worlds
The new Aeon CineGrey 5D AT Series screen features a perforated, acoustically transparent version of Elite’s proprietary CineGrey 5D material, designed to enhance the performance of low-output standard-throw projectors and eliminate up to 75% of the “wash-out effect” room lighting causes on a regular white screen. It will be available in 110- and 120-inch sizes with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Prices start at $1,624.
Screen material is Greenguard Gold-certified for safe indoor air quality and made of 0.01-inch-thick PVC with a 1.5 gain angular reflective surface that delivers “outstanding picture clarity, contrast, and color temperature” while retaining 88% polarization during 3D presentations. On the audio side, tiny 0.02-inch perforations spaced 0.16 inches apart allow sound from speakers behind the screen to pass with –8.0-dB attenuation at 5 kHz.
The screen boasts Elite’s Edge Free design, which means it’s supported by an internal frame around which the material is wrapped for a clean flat-panel TV look. A 0.4-inch black trim option is also available.
Sliding wall brackets make it easy to center the frame and Elite offers an optional remote controllable LED back-lighting kit and a “splice bracket kit” for creating a huge display with multiple frames.
Aeon CineGrey 5D AT Series screens are covered by a 2-year warranty and have a split-screen design that makes them inexpensive to ship and easy to set up.
