New TCL QM7K TVs Offer Improved HDR, Reduced Blooming

TCL has announced its latest television series, the QM7K Precise Dimming Series, featuring the company’s latest QD-Mini LED technology. Following the introduction of its QM6K at CES earlier this year, TCL’s QM7K is designed to improve upon its predecessor with an emphasis on high brightness and precision dimming.

Central to the QM7K is TCL's Halo Control System, which the company states is effective at reducing blooming and halo effects. It enhances contrast and color accuracy. TCL states the QM7K achieves a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits for improved HDR impact, a notable increase over previous models. The TVs also use TCL's latest CrystGlow anti-reflective HVA panels designed to maintain high contrast in brightly lit environments.

Available sizes range from 55 inches up to an impressive 115 inches, all featuring 4K resolution (3840 x 2160). The series offers enhanced gaming features, including Game Accelerator 288 technology and Auto Game Mode, aimed at reducing latency. Supported HDR formats include Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG, alongside Filmmaker Mode for accurate cinematic viewing.

Audio is provided by Bang & Olufsen in the 55"–98" models, delivering 60 watts through a 2.2-channel setup, while the 115-inch model incorporates a 100-watt, 4.2.2-channel audio system.

Peak brightness reaches up to 3000 nits, according to TCL, and precise dimming zones go up to LD2800, depending on the screen size. Other notable features include Wi-Fi connectivity, hands-free voice control, and a backlit remote control.

Prices start at $1,199.99 for the 55-inch model, scaling up to $19,999.99 for the forthcoming 115-inch version.
