Onkyo and Pioneer have announced the availability of a firmware update that activates DTS Play-Fi wireless multi-room audio capability on several products.

The update has been released for Onkyo’s SBT-A500 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X-compatible soundbar system and NCP-302 wireless speaker and Pioneer’s MRX-3 wireless speaker and FS-EB70 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X-compatible soundbar system.

Both companies also announced that select 2016 models and all 2017 models are scheduled to receive a DTS Play-Fi update by end of September and that the newly released Music Control app supports DTS Play-Fi.

Onkyo’s PR-RZ5100 network AV controller and TX-RZ1100 and TX-RZ3100 AV receivers are among the products scheduled to receive the Play-Fi update in September. Pioneer’s Elite Series SC-LX901, SC-LX801, and SC-LX701 AV receivers are also scheduled to receive the September update.
