The HT-S7800 system ($999) is DTS:X-ready (a firmware update is slated for the summer) and includes an AV receiver, powered subwoofer, and five speakers, two of which are Dolby Atmos-enabled models with top-mounted height speakers.
The receiver has eight HDMI inputs, Wi-Fi/AirPlay/Bluetooth wireless connectivity with Spotify streaming, and supports 4K/60 Hz video passthrough with high dynamic range (HDR), 4:4:4 color space, and BT.2020.
Onkyo also announced the entry-level HT-S3800 package ($499), due out in May. The system comprises five compact speakers, a powered subwoofer, and a 5.1-channel receiver with Bluetooth, DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, four HDMI inputs, and support for HDCP 2.2 and 4K/60 Hz video passthrough with high dynamic range (HDR), 4:4:4 color space, and BT.2020.
Both HTiB systems feature Onkyo’s AccuEQ auto-calibration system with the HT-S7800 adding AccuReflex phase-adjustment for calibrating the height speakers built into the Atmos-enabled front left/right main speakers.
