OUR SITE: STILL BROKEN
Wondering why we haven't posted a new story on our homepage since Al Griffin took the No. 1 Highlights slot last Thursday? Because, our IT department tells us, we've been hacked!
For two three four five days, we've been trying to post a really swell shootout between three DTV converter boxes, written by that A/V force of nature, Brent Butterworth. And twice, that story has been "erased."
Even worse, because we did manage to get that DTV Converter story up for a few hours today, our brother blog, Gizmodo (technically, we have no legal relationship to them, we just feel chummy) was kind enough to link to it. But now, when Gizmoders click on that link . . . they just wind up on our homepage. (Note: our real brother site, PopPhoto, has also been hit).
Really, these bitstream items are all we can post, since those pages come from a different source then our regular articles (I'll spare you the technicalities).
So, Mr. Hacker (or is it Ms.?), what the hell? What did we ever do to you? Did you disagree with one of our product reviews? Did one of our tutorials lead you to mis-wire your home theater? (Highly doubtful.) Do you not love the re-design? Please answer in the comments section.
Meanwhile, we hope to have fresh content on the site again . . . soon. -Rob Medich, Online Editor
