Amazon Video On Demand is now available in Panasonic's 2009 Viera Cast Blu-ray players, having already come to Panasonic's Viera Cast plasmas in April.

Current owners of 2009 Panasonic BD players can get the service via free software upgrade. Affected models include the DMP-BD60, BD70V, BD80, and portable B15.

With Amazon VOD, you can browse among 45,000 ad-free titles including more than 1000 HD titles. Playback is instant, with no downloading, waiting, or subscription fees. Items added to Your Video Library on Amazon VOD can be watched on any Viera Cast BD player, PC, Mac, or compatible device. In addition to Amazon VOD, Viera Cast BD players can also handle YouTube videos, Picasa photos, Bloomberg News, and weather. You will of course need an internet connection.
