Paradigm’s PW Soundbar Does Play-Fi Surround

The PW Soundbar, the latest addition to Paradigm’s PW (Power Wireless) portfolio, is a svelte, 9-driver, 3-channel model that uses the DTS Play-Fi platform to stream music from sources ranging from Tidal, Spotify, and TuneIn Radio to high-res music files stored on a computer or NAS drive. With Play-Fi’s latest update, it can also serve as the hub of a wireless 5.1 channel surround system.

Paradigm’s CES showcase had the PW soundbar streaming left and right surround channels to a pair of the company’s PW 600 wireless multiroom speakers. According to Paradigm, the DTS Play-Fi Surround solution it demo’d was delivering 96/24-res signals to the front channels, and CD-res ones to the surrounds. Along with Play-Fi support, the PW Soundbar has HDMI 2.0a inputs/outputs and provides custom-installer-friendly features such as IP control, video pass-through capability, and acoustic EQ settings in the setup menu. Like many other new products from Paradigm and partner-brand MartinLogan, the PW soundbar also features Anthem Room Correction technology (ARC).

Paradigm’s PW Soundbar will sell for $1,299 when it ships this April. The PW 600 wireless speakers are available now for $600/each.
