Peerless-AV has announced the UltraView line of outdoor TVs designed to withstand temperature fluctuations from –24 to 122° F.

Described as “weatherproof and maintenance-free,” the 1080p LED-backlit LCD models are offered in 49-, 55-, and 65-inch screen sizes at $2,999, $4,599, and $5,999, respectively. The 65-inch model will be available in July but the 49- and 55-inch models are available now.

All models are fully sealed, feature built-in weatherproof speakers, and come with an IP68-rated waterproof/dustproof universal remote that can be programmed to control up to three additional devices. Noting that the TVs are best suited for installation in shaded outdoor areas, the company said its sealed design creates a “maintenance-free entertainment solution for year-round use” with no need to change filters or service the TV.

“It’s a common misconception that indoor TVs can be used for outdoor viewing,” said Todd Mares, director of emerging technologies. “Lacking screen brightness and a durable build, they cannot withstand extreme temperatures and conditions.”
