It seems that the RIAA isn't happy at all about the recent ruling allowing a webcast of their upcoming trial against an alleged file-sharer in a copyright infringement case. Their fear?

The RIAA is worried that people will record the webcast and be able to edit and manipulate the court proceedings  - converting the live internet stream into a comedy of embarassments. A U.S. District Court judge just ruled to allow the live video stream that will be available free, online. The RIAA, rightly so, believes that if an edited or manipulated video is released that the public could get an unfair view of the proceedings.

It seems that the RIAA could use the web feed as a cautionary tool for the public, instead of worrying about it making them look bad. --Leslie Shapiro
