Rooms of Magic
According to Stephen Clay, CFO of Audiogon/Videogon.com, "We are jointly seeking contributions of audio and video equipment to auction off to the highest bidder online during the Show. All proceeds will be donated to the Elf Foundation—a favorite charity of the home-entertainment industry. The Elf Foundation's mission is 'Creating Rooms of Magic' at children's hospitals where ill children and their families can enjoy movies and music during their hospital stay."
Douglas Weinstein, executive director of the Elf Foundation, said, "We commend Audiogon/Videogon and Primedia for committing their tremendous media resources to raising money for our foundation."
Audiogon.com is a community-based marketplace where audiophiles and lovers of music gather to teach one another how to create remarkable home audio systems. Manufacturers, dealers, and hobbyists use the marketplace to buy, sell, and trade new and previously owned audio equipment in their quest for the ultimate system. Videogon.com, a similar online community for videophiles, was recently launched in response to the growing numbers of high-end home-theater hobbyists and products.
Co-sponsored by Home Theater, Stereophile Guide to Home Theater, Stereophile, and Audio Video Interiors magazines and The San Francisco Chronicle, the annual HE Show is the country's preeminent home-entertainment event of the year. This year's event offers consumers a chance to see, hear, and evaluate more than 250 brands presented by more than 200 exhibitors in over 100 demo rooms!
