3D was hardly a presence at this year’s show, and aside from a small 3D video wall at the LG booth most of the action was on glasses-free 3D designs.

These were shown by several manufacturers, including Changhong, Toshiba (so I was informed—I missed it), and the 8k (!) jumbo prototype shown here in the Samsung booth and also mentioned by Al Griffin in an earlier post. Unfortunately, the Samsung looked the worst, with significant motion blur. In an earlier year, however, this might have been a showstopper, but this year, for me and many other scribes, that honor fell to Samsung’s S UltraTVs.
