After a career spanning nearly four decades, Definitive Technology co-founder and president Sandy Gross is retiring. He will work his last day at the company on March 31, after which Executive Vice President Dave Peet and Vice President of Marketing Paul DiComo will assume his responsibilities.

"For decades I've worked 24/7 running my businesses and I saw the time approaching when I would want to slow down, take a break and contemplate my future plans," Gross said in the announcement. "But I didn't want to leave before there was a management structure in place that could continue Definitive's legacy of quality and success. I have supreme confidence in Dave and Paul's abilities to take Definitive to new heights. I've known and worked closely with both of them for many years and I know they have all the tools necessary to succeed."

Gross has been a major figure in the audio equipment industry for decades. He came on to the audiophile scene in 1972, when he co-founded Polk Audio alongside Matthew Polk, George Klopfer, and Craig Georgi. Gross left the company in 1988, and two years later founded Definitive Technology with Don Givogue and Ed Blaise.
