Home automation specialist Savant has announced a smart amplifier that supports hi-res audio and Apple’s AirPlay 2 streaming and HomeKit smart-home platforms.

Slated for delivery over the summer, the Savant SmartAmp ($699) is app controllable, delivers 2 x 125 watts of power, and features a digital signal processor (DSP) optimized for the company’s speakers with equalization for fine tuning audio performance.

The Savant Music mobile app is said to facilitate easy setup and customization with shortcuts to favorite artists and music. Multiple SmartAmps can be used in a whole-home audio system with the app providing the ability to group rooms and create entertainment scenes and music playlists.

An “array of digital and analog inputs and outputs make the amp plug-and-play with other entertainment devices such as TVs, media players, and more,” Savant said.
