Severtson Unveils Enhanced Acoustically-Transparent 4K Projection Screens
With the new SAT-4K screens, the entire front sound stage can be placed directly behind the screen at the same horizontal axis, allowing dialogue and special effects to be in sync with images on the screen, according to the company.
The acoustically-woven screens are described as seamless, flame and mildew resistant, and available in any size with the option of being fitted in Severtson’s new 4K thin/zero bezel fixed frame. As an added benefit, the new material lays flat and is more resistant to wrinkles than previous materials. Specs include a gain of 1.18 and viewing angle of 160 degrees.
Available in Severtson’s Impression, Deluxe, Deluxe Curved, and Thin Bezel configurations, the SAT-4K screen is said to meet or exceed industry standards for optimum video and acoustic performance, providing “reference quality reproduction of the digital image combined with true fidelity of the original soundtrack.” Custom and standard sizes are available with an LED backlit add-on option.
“Our SAT-4K has received tremendous accolades since its launch, and we are proud to build upon its success with the next generation which features an even finer weave and whiter material that makes the viewing image even better than before,” said Toby Severtson, president and CEO. “Made in the USA, the SAT-4K replicates the cinema experience in the home and commercial settings like no other projection screen on the market today.”
Severtson added that the new SAT-4K’s acoustic abilities are not hampered by the finer weave and noted that pricing is the same as the previous SAT-4K.
