Sharp Announces 75-inch Aquos 4K TV

Sharp, the venerable brand sold under license by Hisense of China under a deal struck in 2015, announced the availability of its first Aquos TV with a 75-inch screen.

The Aquos N8000 4K Smart TV ($3,200) supports high-dynamic range (HDR) processing—presumably HDR10—wide color gamut and comes with a 4K media player. The set is built on a new smart TV platform featuring an “intuitive tile-like interface, allowing viewers to stream content from Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, and more in seconds.”

Other key features include a built-in app store and Web browser for seamless searching, multi-zone edge-lit local dimming, and Sharp’s proprietary AquoMotion backlight scanning methodology, designed to enhance motion.
