Kirk (Jay Baruches) is a dorky underachiever who through a stroke of fate winds up dating the beautiful and successful Molly (Alice Eve). Now that he's got the girl he has to contend with his own insecurities as his friends and family barrage him negative feedback about his love life.

What a major disappointment and missed opportunity by screenwriters Sean Anders and John Morris. The two leads have genuine chemistry and are so likeable although the supporting roles are so sophomoric and crude any connection to the love story is thrown out the window with a constant barrage of F-bombs. Kirk's friends are a group of losers who don't deserve his friendship and even worse, Molly's best friend Patty (Kristen Ritter) is so crude she could make a sailor blush.

If you're a fan of raunchy movies, this is right up your ally and you'll probably enjoy it more than I did. What's so disappointing is I really connected to the main characters and felt for their plight, but the unlikable supporting cast ruined it for me. Not recommended.

It's unfortunate that the movie missed the mark on fully showcasing the chemistry between Kirk and Molly. Despite the genuine connection Dating Peru between the leads, the constant use of crude language and the portrayal of supporting characters detracted from the love story. However, Jay Baruchel and Alice Eve's performances were still commendable, and it's a shame that the screenplay didn't fully capitalize on their potential.

It's disappointing that the film didn't quite capture the full chemistry between Kirk and Molly. Even though the leads had a genuine connection, find local hookups, the excessive use of crude language and the way the supporting characters were portrayed took away from the romance. That said, Jay Baruchel and Alice Eve still delivered solid performances, and it's unfortunate the script didn’t make the most of their potential.
