Sonance is now shipping its Invisible speaker series, in-wall speakers designed to blend completely in with the decor.

While they still reflect light (and are not, technically speaking, invisible), the speakers are completely flat and sit flush against the wall. They're designed to be plastered over and painted (with a water-based paint), or wallpapered, so they can fit virtually any decor.

The Invisible series includes the SA1.5 and SA3 speakers and the SAW subwoofer. The SA1.5 and SA3 match a 48-square-inch planar tweeter with a (respectively) 6.5- and 8-inch conventional woofer, while the SAW uses a pair of 8-inch conventional drivers to provide the low-frequency response. All three Invisible speakers measure less than 4 inches deep.

The speakers are shipping now, and range in price from $1,000 for the SAW or a pair of SA1.5's to $1,400 for a pair of SA3's.
