Just when you thought Blu-ray Discs were the hot new format for playing your favorite film, Sonic Solutions has introduced a USB drive that plays movies, too. The digital media company has just announced a plan to bring CinemaNow flicks to USB drives. These drives will include an integrated media player as well as the necessary video codecs to enable instant high-quality PC playback of movie content offline. And once connected to the internet, you can add the title to their Roxio CinemaNow Digital Locker to access it on other devices like a networked Blu-ray player and any connected TV. The company expects the first drives to begin appearing just in time for the holiday season, so don’t be shocked if some of your wrapped gifts are a little smaller than usual.
