Sonus faber, the Italian speaker maker known for its unique and elegant designs, today announced a stylish all-in-one wireless music system that uses digital signal processing (DSP) and an array of seven speakers to deliver “mesmerizing three-dimensional sound.”

Due out in March, the $1,999 Omnia is a far less expensive follow-up to the unique $12,000 sf16 system introduced in 2016 and since discontinued. The Omnia is Roon Ready for simple, integrated use with the audiophile-approved Roon music management system and supports streaming via Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, aptX HD-enabled Bluetooth, and Chromecast built-in, which makes it easy to stream from favorite apps on your phone or tablet/laptop.

The system mates two stereo driver complements, each comprising a 0.75-inch silk-dome tweeter and 3-inch paper-cone midrange, with a down-firing 6.5-inch aluminum woofer and a pair of side-firing drivers in a décor-friendly cabinet just over 2 feet wide, 11 inches deep, and about 5 inches tall. The company says its proprietary Crescendo signal processing works with the 1.75-inch full-range driver on either end of the enclosure to project a wide soundstage with a “greater sense of dimensionality and immersivity” than other self-contained music systems.

With system power spec’d at 490 watts, the system is said to be able to hit a maximum sound-pressure level of 108 dB (@1 meter) and play down to 30 Hz (–6dB).

A touch-sensitive interface based on Sonus faber’s Senso technology provides simple, direct control over the system, including switching inputs and adjusting volume. A remote with basic controls is also provided. Inputs include an HDMI port with enhanced Audio Return Control (eARC) and an analog jack, switchable between moving-magnet phono and line-level connections.
