Sony in Depth
With all the activity in 3D, did anyone think that Sony wouldn't offer its first 3D projector at this year's CEDIA? Well, it hasthe VP-VW90ES, and it's the first Sony projector to carry the ES brand.
Incorporating the third generation SXRD panel, the projector claims 150,000:1 peak contrast (presumably with the projector's dynamic iris engaged), 1000 ANSI Lumens, supports all 3D modes, and offers 240Hz operation. There is also a 2-to-3D conversion mode. As with the current 2D VPL-VW85 (which is cosmetically identical and remains in the Sony projector line), the VPL-VW90ES has a 144 zone panel alignment feature. It also comes with a 3-year limited parts and labor warrantee. Available in November for $9,999.
