Sony Goes All In On 4K
Sony premiered their updated 4K models at CEDIA bringing the new VPL-VW665ES and VPL-VW365ES to the floor. These updated models include new longer lasting lamps (up to 6,000 hours!) and the VW665ES adds HDR support. Sony continues to be the leader of native 4K projectors and both promise support for HDCP 2.2 and the latest HDMI specification (though we're looking into the details on EXACTLY what that means). Sony is also launching some new PC-based calibration software that will allow you to dial in the best picture possible from their new models. Both models will be available in October with the VW665ES coming in at $14,999 and the VW365ES at $9,999.
