Stealth Acoustics Expands StingRay Speaker Line
Unveiled last week at ISE 2020 in Amsterdam, the StingRay 83 boasts an IP68 “ingress protection” rating, meaning it’s fully dust tight and built to withstand continuous immersion in 3 feet of water for 64 hours.
The speaker is a three-way design that mates an 8-inch woofer, 1.2-inch midrange driver, and 1-inch tweeter in a hermetically sealed enclosure made of UV-protected fiberglass and fiber-infused marine-grade plastic suitable for the harshest of environments — from patios to watercraft. The speaker is built to operate between 0 and 150° F and has a flat radiating surface designed to disperse sound 170° vertically and horizontally.
Available in a no-fade matte white or matte black finish, the StingRay 83’s unobtrusive enclosure is 21 inches wide, 15 inches tall and less than 4 inches thick. The speaker can also be custom painted or wrapped to match a specific color, texture, or print design and comes with a key-slot mounting bracket.
The speaker is rated down to 40 Hz and built to handle up to 300 watts of peak power (160 watts RMS), making it ideal for outdoor theater instead of just background music.
