S&V Entertainment Awards

Robert Allen Zimmerman. Charles Foster Kane. We'll bet you five you're not alive if you don't know their names. Bob Dylan and Orson Welles ran away with top honors in this year's S&V Entertainment Awards.

Of the nine music critics voting for the best CDs of 2001, eight mentioned Love and Theft, five of them placing it in their Top 3. And of the nine movie critics voting for the best DVD releases - considering both the original film (whatever the year) and its presentation on disc - six cited Citizen Kane, five of them in their Top 3.

Meanwhile, in a nice bit of cross-format serendipity, we'd like to point out that CD No. 4, the White Stripes' White Blood Cells, includes a song ("The Union Forever") with lyrics composed of dialogue from . . . Citizen Kane. Lost your Rosebud? Cue up these 22 titles and get ready for some extended sledding.
