SVS Introduces Prime Wireless 2.1 Speaker System
The Prime Wireless 2.1 Speaker System packages a SB-1000 subwoofer and a 10-foot SoundPath RCA interconnect cable with a pair of Prime Wireless powered two-way speakers to create a versatile hi-res system featuring Wi-Fi and aptX-enabled Bluetooth connectivity with direct access to a wealth of streaming services through DTS’s multiroom-capable Play-Fi app.
Connecting the SB-1000 is a simple matter of running the supplied cable to the subwoofer output on the Prime Wireless speaker; doing so activates an optimal 80-Hz crossover. The system is offered in a high-gloss piano black or white finish for $1,200.
The SB-1000 combines a 12-inch high-excursion woofer with dual ferrite magnets and a conservatively rated 300-watt Sledge STA-300D amplifier featuring custom DSP and equalization in a compact cabinet only 3 inches taller than the main speakers. The subwoofer is rated down to 24 Hz and has a continuously variable low-pass filter plus controls for volume and phase.
The Prime Wireless speakers are powered by a 4 x 50-watt Class D amplifier built into one of the cabinets along with an active digital crossover and 192-KHz/24-bit digital-to-analog-converter (DAC). Optical digital, analog RCA, and auxiliary minijack inputs are provided for system flexibility while front-panel presets allow up to six favorite streaming sources to be stored for instant access without using the app.
SVS’s SoundPath cable features gold plated jacks and a heavy-duty construction with dual balanced conductors and a five-layer dielectric isolation designed to reject electromagnetic (EM) and radio frequency (RF) interference.
