THX, HAA Create Elite Home Theater Training

THX has partnered with Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA) to create a new high-level home theater training intended to enhance the THX Certified Professional Training Program.

The training is designed to help custom integrators achieve the “best possible home theater experience in any environment.” From multi-purpose family rooms to dedicated home theaters, the courses include theory and hands-on workshops on the essentials of home theater equipment, technologies, and high-performance acoustic design.

“I’ve always respected THX’s integrity and their unwillingness to compromise on performance, ” said Gerry Lemay, director of HAA. “THX Certified products are some of the best home theater components in the world and it’s important to THX, their CE partners, and the consumer, that this equipment be installed and set-up properly. That has always been the goal of HAA training courses and throughout the years we received a reputation for offering the industry’s most comprehensive training programs. Now we’re thrilled to partner with THX in educating the world’s best custom integrators.”

The THX-HAA Home Theater Training program comprises three certification levels and six days of training: Home Theater Advisor (one day), Home Theater Integrator (two days), and Home Theater Advanced Integrator (three days). Integrators who complete the program will receive certifications from THX and HAA and be listed on the websites of both companies.

“Over the past three decades we’ve had over 5,000 individuals take THX training courses demonstrating their commitment to providing consumers with the best audio visual experience possible,” said THX’s Bill Rusitzky. “Today we renew our commitment to the integrator community by partnering with one of the most respected names in the industry (HAA) and launching a new Professionals web portal to be a resource for those who entrust us with their learning,”

The courses will be offered in Dallas next month at CEDIA 2016. For more information, visit thx.com.

It seems fewer and fewer companies are bothering to pony up the cost of THX certification. It seems a bit passe now that we have Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro 3D, ISF certification, etc.
