URC has announced that its Total Control home automation platform now integrates with Google Assistant-enabled devices, allowing homeowners to automate and control a variety of smarthome devices using simple voice commands.

The new capability allows audio/video and home entertainment gear, lighting, thermostats, security cameras, and more to be controlled and programmed using custom phrases and custom responses.

Virtually any Total Control macro — or sequence of programmed commands — can be controlled via the Total Control Google Assistant integration, according to URC.

The system also supports Amazon’s Alexa Smart Home Skill integration, which enables voice control through a range of Alexa-enabled devices, including Amazon Fire TV and the Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers.
