Vizio announced that its SmartCast devices—which include TVs, soundbars, and speakers—are now compatible with the Google Home voice-control system.

Google Home users can use voice commands to adjust volume and control music playback on Google Home supported services as well as turn on SmartCast-enabled TVs and start a Netflix movie or a YouTube video when Vizio’s "Quick Start Power Mode" is enabled.

Playing a specific song on a SmartCast speaker or soundbar is a simple matter of saying "Okay Google" followed by the song title. Compatible streaming services include Google Play Music, Pandora, and Spotify Premium.

Chromecast is built into all SmartCast devices to make it easy to stream from any mobile app. When you tap the Cast button from an app such as Netflix or YouTube content is streamed via Wi-Fi to the SmartCast device. The SmartCast app can also be used to transform an iOS or Android device into a touchscreen/voice remote control for SmartCast TVs and other devices.
