What Would You Do with a Two-Sided TV?
Dr. Ching W. Tang, one of the pioneers of OLED technology, was quoted as saying: "Without backlight and other auxiliary layers, the OLED display is fundamentally less complicated compared to LCD, and in time less costly to manufacture."
LG also showed a “wallpaper” OLED display that’s just 1 millimeter (0.04 inches) thick. A magnet backing makes it easy to move the screen around—a cool idea that suggests wireless signal transmission.
Tang called flexible/foldable, wearable, and transparent OLED displays “technology for the next generation."
We’ll have to wait and see if LG demonstrates the two-sided display at 2016 CES. In the meantime, let us know what you think about the concept of a two-sided TV and how you might use it—or not.
